BRIDGE’s first coming out day, so to speak, SAMARPAN 2018, was organised on February 3, 2018 when it conducted a fund-raising programme during which it felicitated 7 Families who survived against tough odds after they lost their breadwinners with the maiden ACT Fibernet BRIDGE Resilience Awards. During the function we also launched BRIDGE Books, the publishing division of the organization and released its two books, Dare to Dream and Giving Up Was NOT An Option.
The function, organised at National College Auditorium, Bengaluru, was a grand success with people from all walks of life and across the country assembled in solidarity with BRIDGE. The auditorium was packed to capacity. The event was presided over by Sudha Murty, chairperson of Infosys Foundation, with Bala Malladi, CEO of ACT, Ashish Dikshit, CEO of Aditya Birla Fashions as guests of honour. The keynote address was delivered by Tushar Gandhi, the great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi. The evening was made memorable with the presence of a number of personalities from the corporate, media and the social sector. The other high point of the evening was an enthusiastic auction of the book Giving Up Was NOT An Option autographed by all the dignitaries which raised over Rs 5 lakh in about 10 minutes.
