Letters from the Founder

BRIDGE being a close-knit family, its founder Shibu Joseph makes it a point to regularly communicate with all its members updating them on every development — progress of each beneficiary family, new additions to the family, funds raised, their utilisation and future plans of the organisation. These letters are very personal and touching even as they provide its readers a glimpse into the depth of the involvement of its members. We present you some of these letters.

We Secured 80G and 12A Certificates

Dear friends,

I have immense happiness in reconnecting with all of you after a few months of break following my health issues. I take this opportunity to thank all of you for your concern, care and prayers during this period. It has been very humbling to experience your love and that of our BRIDGE beneficiaries some of who have been camping outside my hospital throughout my stay there. I am happy to inform you that I am almost ready to get back to routines.

I have another good news to share with you. Yesterday BRIDGE crossed a major milestone in its journey when we received approval for our 80G and 12A applications from Income Tax Dept. With 80G certificate we will be able to approach companies for funds as this certificate is mandatory for them. The certificate will also help all our donors claim tax exemption. With these certificates and recognition, I am sure we will be empowered to reach out to a larger number of families that are struggling in troubled waters. I also take this opportunity to thank our Chartered Accountants BO AND CO LLP that has worked tirelessly and organised all the required paperwork and not charged us a single pie for the same.

What is also remarkable is the fact that the I-T commissioner who issued the order was so impressed by our vision and our work that he has taken it upon himself to spread the word about us and pass on the BRIDGE video among all his contacts. Already one of his contacts approached me and made a donation of Rs 1 lakh this morning. He is Dr Lakshman, a committed surgeon from Jayanagar who does a lot of charitable work. He has told me that if we have any poor patients with requirements of surgical interventions, he would treat them free. I have no words to thank God for such blessings. May their tribe increase.

The period subsequent to my last mail to you has been quite hectic as far as our work was concerned. We have been able to intervene in the lives of a number of new families and helped many students continue their studies by paying their fees. A number of new families that have joined us are now grateful to BRIDGE and all our benefactors for our support and care. I am yet to begin travelling to meet them and due to which much of my interactions have been over the phone. I shall write about them to you in my next mail as I do not want to add to this already long mail.

Once again, I take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support, care and concern.

I would like to request you to spread the word about BRIDGE’s 80G certification so that companies can connect with us and ease our struggle for funds. I am giving below the link to our BRIDGE video which sums up our vision, mission, and our activities. Kindly share the same with your friends and like-minded persons.
